3 things we learned about fast, low cost AI.
Our dev team held a workshop on Jev, a new decision model from TypeSafe AI. It does not generate text. It takes information and questions, and returns clear answers with confidence scores.
The lessons from our team:
1.Not every task needs a large AI model..For sorting and quick decisions, a smaller decision model can be faster and cheaper.
2.two models work better than one. Let a decision model sort quickly, then use a larger model for writing and reasoning.
3.Know the limits. Jev cannot write or explain, so we use it only where it fits.

This week our dev team held a workshop on Jev, a new AI model from TypeSafe AI. Instead of generating text, it makes quick, structured decisions, which makes it a good fit for sorting and classification tasks.
What we took away:
1. Not every task needs a large AI model.
2. Pairing a decision model with a larger model gives speed and quality.
3. Knowing a tool’s limits matters as much as knowing its strengths.
